Dearest Alumni, Associates and Friends:
It has been too long since I've been able to turn-out our popular newsletter...time goes fast and there are never enough hours in the day. I hope this newsletter finds you well. For many it has been a rough ride, business and clientele alike. Times like this DO have an upside, believe it or not. It makes us take closer look at our business and precisely why we are in this business (Upcoming Mixer, April 11).
The combination of love for the work, the desire to learn more and a good sense for what our clients need and want have made you a successful survivor of this economy. Appreciate what you have and what you create, work hard and smile. A little pressure makes us resourceful and provides a head start for when things begin to improve (which is now!) Our next mixer will focus on business, creative solutions and... the service component.
Our next mixer will be April 11, 2010, from 10AM-1PM. Please RSVP and I hope to see you there!
~Marie-Jose

Last year I read three articles that truly caught my attention:
The Contractile Fields - A New Module of Human Movement - Parts 1, 2 and 3 by Philip Beach DO, DAC, OSNZ
The 3 Part article gives an in-depth explanation of the division of the embryonic body into "fields" of movement.
This new model, published by Elsevier is based on basic developmental concepts of embryology and evolutionary biomechanics of vertebrate movement patterns. It describes the fields of interacting contractility. Contractile fields are whole organism in scope and are drawn from core mammalian movement patterns.
- Flexion/Extension – Dorsal/Ventral CF (Contractile Fields)
- Lateral/Flexion – Lateral/CF
- Twisting/Rotation – Helical CF
- This is a combination of D/V, L, H, CF
- Circular (Narrowing) Radial CF

Lost and Found!
This little book was introduced to me by Marika Molnar about twenty years ago. It has been out of print for the ten years or so. However, back by popular demand, there is a new short-run of this publication. I recommend this to ANY of your female clientele, Pre-Post Natal, Pelvic Floor weakness or otherwise. It is a true gem and currently available at the Angel City Body Kinetics Wellness Boutique.
